In November 2008, Kristian Abbott was found guilty of a crime he did not commit, and was sent to prison in January 2009 for 21 months. Since the original investigation, Kristian has maintained his innocence, and has been the victim of a corrupt investigation and lies throughout. This website will give you information about Kristian Abbott and his fight for justice.

The latest attempt by GMP to sideline David Abbott's complaint against Paul Barnard and others from the PSB is such a poor attempt. Barnard himself is now newly moved to Rochdale neighbourhood policing. Read it here

Police&Press

The Present Furore about Phone Hacking, Police Corruption and the Press, made us wonder if such a thing goes on in Manchester? In particular does the Manchester Evening News report everything about the police objectively? Or does the same culture exist as with the Nationals where money changes hands and the police get left pretty much alone. To find out more click this link

The social services part two

July 2009

I was moved again from HMP Preston to HMP Acklington in Northumberland. The northernmost prison in England. I was now several hours away from my family and any support. Some may argue (not me obviously) that this is a frequently used and well known tactic within prison life, to try and break you emotionally if you are “in denial” (no such thing as innocent, you are in denial) and ultimately capitulate to do warm fluffy corrective courses, thus giving ticks in boxes to people like the Probation services (discussed in “Probation services”). Like I said, I wouldn't suggest such things.

Things had progressed relatively slowly in the months February to June 2010. The same mundane meetings with Buckley, the same interrogation, the same bullying and harassing tactics to try and get her tick in the book.

March 2010. The pain, of which I have never experienced the like of before was debilitating. I couldn't stand up, I couldn't sit down, I knew this was a hospital job. A good dose of Morphine later and everything was good again, and a little floaty.

The force that Kristian was once so proud to belong to has a lot of questions to answer in this matter. The parents of Kristian Abbott made a complaint to the then Chief Constable Michael Todd, about the behaviour of the investigating officer in the case, way back in November 2007.

We appealed against the white wash regarding Mr Straughn, and were promptly given an appointment with one Richard Barnes, a senior probation officer working at the Probation service's head office in Manchester.

August 2009, The prison probation officer I mentioned previously, also informed me I would have to stay in a hostel upon release, as I present a “high risk of harm to my son” ,my at the time, 1 year old son.

I think the problem I had, and the reason why I couldn't believe what was going on, and why people like Danielle Buckley could break the law and behave as she was with impunity, was this; I was brought up to believe certain things....

Q1: “Why have you ignored my request to have a legal representative present?

A:(DB) “It is not a legal meeting, your father can't attend either because its a professional legal meeting”

Buckley remained defiant that I should stay in a hostel upon release. Mind you, her superiors had told her to “stand your ground with him”. Without any lawful reason, or evidence, and despite evidence to the contrary, I was not allowed home. I had now spent 10 and a half months away from my wife and son
