So let me get this right, the Chief Officer and his deputy arrested for suspicion of Misconduct in Public Office as well as a member or members of the Cleveland Police Authority. It is said by the BBC that the possible charges will include misuse of public office and fraud by abuse of power. So, first London, then Cleveland and soon, if the GMPA stop deliberately trying to stop the law taking its proper course, maybe the Chief Officer of GMP will be making the headlines.
It is David Abbott's contention that the GMPA have abused their power over the years to avoid complaints about Peter Fahy seeing the light of day. David has also made an issues of the way that decisions about complaints are made and how the members of the Police Authority never seem to get involved in any decisions about complaints. His experience is that it has always been the deputy Chief Executive Russell Bernstein or Nigel Battersby who have dealt with his complaint. On the admission of Battersby, no members have ever sat and discussed his complaint against Peter Fahy and there are no minutes of any such meetings or discussions. This means that Battersby or Bernstein or both have made the decision to try to stop David's complaint against Peter Fahy getting into the system. So, is that an abuse of power? Are those members who claim expenses for meetings claiming them falsely?
Perhaps there will soon be an investigation into the relationship between GMP and the GMPA which might find out they have been just a Little too cosy over the years. Who knows/ These are certainly interesting times we live in. Any bums twitching at the GMPA yet? Some people cannot wait for the day when these corrupt arrogant people are deposed from their overpaid jobs and sent marching off to prison.
