Given the way in which he seems to constantly report positive stuff about Greater Manchester Police, even down to going for a ride in someone's police BMW this week, one might be forgiven for thinking that there is an unhealthy relationship between the crime reporters at the MEN and GMP.

Now we simply don't know if there is any wrongdoing, but, if seems to be the case in the Capital with the big newspapers, it is a common thing and looked on as “PART OF THE JOB” , might it not also be presumed to be a part of the same job in Manchester?

What gives us the ideas that corruption and skulduggery might be afoot in the Greater Manchester Area? Well it was noted and commented on at Kristian's trial, that DS Barnard, not content with talking to his sidekick DC Natalie Kershaw whilst under oath and supposedly on the stand, and not content with getting witnesses to change their statements during the trial, also felt it his duty to come out of the Court and talk to John Scheerhout and Ben Bland who were there for the MEN. Why, when GMP has a Press Office and all news about trials etc has to go through that office, was Barnard talking to Scheerhout and Bland about the trial? Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Also, although David Abbott has forced GMP to record and investigate Barnard and some others from the PSB albeit having to go to Court to do it first, is there no mention of that in the MEN despite John Scheerhout and other reporters from the MEN being a part of the email group that receives all updates from the Justice4Kj site? A serious investigation into the officers who normally do the investigations themselves into other officers and no mention in the MEN?

If that were not bad enough, David Abbott has forced the Greater Manchester Police Authority (GMPA) to record and investigate a complaint of Misconduct in Public Office against Chief Constable Peter Fahy. Surely that is newsworthy? Not according to Scheerhout who simply deletes all emails from this site to him. He would rather pose in a police flak jacket on his twitter page, than do some real investigative journalism that might upset his chums at GMP.

Why is it then that there is this close and corrupt relationship between the police and journalists? In Manchester's case the Journalists (if one can actually call them that now) sit in the late night bars that the police do and go to police orientated dinners and possibly the Masons.

The trouble is that soon the investigation into Journalist and police corruption and phone hacking will spread to the provinces and people like Scheerhout will find themselves in trouble. Are we surprised by the way Scheerhout behaves? No, David Abbott tells us that when he was a Black Cab driver at Manchester Airport, he picked Scheerhout up from the rank and when Scheerhout told him he was coming to Manchester to work for the Manchester Evening Lies (David's words) David said I wish I had known cos you would not have got into the cab. Scheerhout asked why, and David told him of the way that the MEN (in his opinion) never printed the truth about anything and were never bothered about ruining people's lives if it meant they could dish up some trashy story that kept the Wilmslow set happy.

One thing you will notice about the MEN and in particular Scheerhout's stories, is that they invariably disable the comments facility as they know what response they will get. The MEN? John Scheerhout? Just another tawdry hack working for just another tawdry rag. There is much more honesty to be found on the Internet.
