The Trial began on the 20th of October 2008 and ended on the 6th of November 2008. It was held at Manchester Crown Court, Minshull Street site and the Judge presiding was Judge Peter Lakin. Appearing for the prosecution was Rachel Shenton and for the defence Charlotte Crangle.
We may make the trial transcripts available via this site at a later date for those law students who want to study a trial such as this. Suffice it to say that a lot of lessons were learnt during that trial some of which shocked the family and friends of Kristian. The ability of those supposedly there to uphold the law to lie without even blinking. The way that some of the witnesses lied and changed their stories. The way that the person primarily there to provide the best defence possible for Kristian failed miserably in that task either by incompetence or design. We will merely lay out the facts and let you see for yourselves. It is up to you the reader to make up your own mind. Some of the site is now written with the benefit of what has transpired in the time since the trial took place.
